Music Competition Rules
All Categories
- No more than one entry per person, per category
- It must be playable in xmplay with no custom plugins
- Your entry must be original, unreleased music (no remixes)
- Suggestion: Try to keep your songs down to radio friendly lengths
(3-4 minutes) for judging purposes. We'll try to allow fair time for them to play, but we may cut long songs off before they finish (probably around the four minute mark). The more entries we receive, the shorter we will cut them, so make sure that your best material is within the first few minutes.
Streamed
- 10MB Maximum size
- Suggested: 192k fixed bitwith or
lame --alt-preset
standard for ~200kbs VBR.
Tracked
- Anything your tracker will do is fair game, as long as it plays in xmplay
without custom plugins
- Under 2MB
Fast Tracked
- Sample set to be chosen when the compo begins
- No sample editing outside of the tracker
- No effects processing, or VSTi plugins (not even IT filters)
- No added samples
- MP3's are okay
