Music Competition Rules

All Categories

• No more than one entry per person, per category
• It must be playable in xmplay with no custom plugins
• Your entry must be original, unreleased music (no remixes)
• Suggestion: Try to keep your songs down to radio friendly lengths
  (3-4 minutes) for judging purposes. We'll try to allow fair time for them to play, but we may cut long songs off before they finish (probably around the four minute mark). The more entries we receive, the shorter we will cut them, so make sure that your best material is within the first few minutes.

• 10MB Maximum size
• Suggested: 192k fixed bitwith or lame --alt-preset
standard for ~200kbs VBR.

Tracked

• Anything your tracker will do is fair game, as long as it plays in xmplay
  without custom plugins
• Under 2MB

elcome to the home page for Pilgrimage, Utah's annual demo party! Pilgrimage is the longest running event of its kind in North America.

What is a demo party, you ask? Its an event where artists gather to celebrate the digital medium as a mode of creative self-expression -- the 'demo' part of a demo party. Its also an event where those interested in demos socialize and have fun -- the 'party' part of a demo party!

Why Pilgrimage?

very demo party has to have a name. We chose a name that reflected Utah's historical place in the field of computer graphics, for without computer graphics there would be no demos!

Introduction:
This is the official handbook for the Pilgrimage 2006 Demo Party. In it, you will find rule books, information about local vendors and accomidations, etc.

ilgrimage is pleased to announce that we are joining forces with Protocol 42, Utah's largest independent LAN party. This will give us a better venue than we've had before, a great LAN and internet connection and our own projection area within the party space.
